So you’re back at college after the winter break and are getting back into the swing of things. While you were home, you might have slipped into your old routines of heading to the gym or playing a game of pickup basketball with your siblings, and realized that those few short months of no exercise have taken a toll on your fitness.

When you went away to school in the fall, you likely prioritized making new friends, getting your bearings around campus and learning where to get the best late night food. However, now that you are a seasoned college student, you may be starting to feel a bit worn down and possibly can’t remember the last time you got your heart rate up during a workout.

To avoid the dreaded Freshman 15 and to keep your mind clear to focus on school, it’s important to incorporate healthy habits, like regular exercise into your weekly routine, just as you would schedule going to class into your day. We know time is tight when you are in college – between school, work and friends, and it can leave little time for exercise. However, with a few key exercises and space-efficient equipment, like the BowFlex SelectTech 840 Kettlebell, you can get your sweat on in the comfort of your dorm room.

Next time you have a few minutes to spare, break out your kettlebell and complete each exercise for 30-45 seconds with little to no rest in between. Repeat the circuit two to four times as needed, based on your fitness level.
