The 30 Days of Walking Workout Challenge

Are you ready to get up and get walking? Whether you own a BowFlex TreadClimber cardio machine, or are just walking around your workplace or neighborhood, the 30 Days of Walking Workout Challenge can be easily incorporated into your everyday life. Start tomorrow by walking the suggested time on "Day 1" of the plan, then keep moving through the days, walking the amount of time suggested, until you have completed all 30 days.

It doesn't matter when you walk during the day. You can even break the suggested time up into multiple smaller walks throughout the day if you need to. The important thing is to start walking - just ask walking enthusiast, Dale Rule, who used walking to lose 140 pounds in one year. We were so inspired by Dale's story that we asked him to help us put together this challenge, so that others could join in his success!

Here are some tips to help you stay motivated as you keep yourself going through the 30 Days of Walking Workout Challenge:

  • See how far you can get in the suggested amount of time and challenge yourself to go even farther the next day, even if it's just a little bit.
  • Ask a friend to walk with you. Having someone to walk (and talk) with can help make the minutes fly by. You may also find that a friend can help motivate you to get up and get walking on the days you may feel like bailing on your workout.
  • Put on your favorite tunes while walking. Music can give you something to enjoy and lose yourself in while you walk off the calories. It can also be a good time to catch up on a podcast you love. If you're walking outside with headphones in your ears though, be sure to pay attention to traffic.

Follow the 30 Days of Walking Workout Challenge for the full 30-days, and you'll be amazed how much better you'll feel at the end. You might even find that you want to keep your walking workouts going after completing the challenge!
