The Five-Minute Cardio Workout

The reason most people give for not exercising is lack of time. What so many fail to realize is that shorter exercise sessions absolutely "add up," meaning that a few 10-minute workouts have the same benefits as doing one longer continuous workout. These "micro-workouts" are the future of fitness, making it possible to fit exercise in at various times throughout our busy day, rather than skipping it altogether simply because we don't have thirty minutes or more. Here is a cardio workout that, in just five minutes, will torch calories, improve your mood and so much more!

Here's what the cardio workout includes:

7 exercises for 30 seconds each with 15 seconds of active recovery jogging between each exercise. Since each exercise is only done for 30 seconds, be sure to challenge yourself to maximize your results in the short amount of time this workout takes.

Total time: 5 minutes

  • Skaters - 30 seconds
  • Jog in place - 15 seconds
  • Jumping Jacks - 30 seconds
  • Jog in place - 15 seconds
  • Mountain Climbers - 30 seconds

  • Jump Lunges - 30 seconds
  • Jog in place - 15 seconds
  • High Knees - 30 seconds
  • Jog in place - 15 seconds
  • Squat Punches - 30 seconds
