Transformation Tuesday: Meet Alyssa - Mom and MAX Superhero

In our #TransformationTuesday series, we chat with real Bowflex owners who have experienced major successes in their fitness journey. This week we interviewed Alyssa, a mom of two who lost 80 pounds with the help of the Bowflex Max Trainer and a healthy diet.

Tell us about the Alyssa in the first picture.

Alyssa: In my before picture, I was miserable and uncomfortable in my own skin. I had high blood pressure, my diet was awful, I tired all the time and knew that I needed a big change. I was and still am proud of being a mom of two under two (now they are 3 and 1.5 years old). I struggled with diet mostly because I was breastfeeding and my cravings were out of control.

Think back all the way from childhood until now. What has your background with fitness and exercise been? How has this shifted over time?

Alyssa: I always played sports like softball and soccer as a child, but once high school hit I got lazy. I ate junk and sugary sodas which made me gain a lot of weight. Now that I have access to amazing equipment at home with my children it is so much easier to work out.

What inspired you to make a change in your life?

Alyssa: Seeing that photo on right with my family in it, I looked and felt uncomfortable in my own skin. Also, having being diagnosed with high blood pressure which is now under control with no medication, thanks to diet and exercise.

What struck you about the Bowflex Max Trainer?

Alyssa: I wanted to try the Max Trainer because of the quick 14-minute workout, and that's why I chose it over other machines.

How did the Max Trainer make you feel?

Alyssa: It was very hard at first. I could barely make the 14 minutes, but as weeks went by it got easier and now I can do an hour no problem! I feel great after a workout on the Max Trainer. I loved and still love that it is a quick and effective work out! Moms know our time is limited, so a 14-minute workout is amazing.

Tell us about your nutrition.

Alyssa: When I started working out on the Max Trainer I had already been eating a healthy diet and was at the point where I wanted to add in exercise. I counted calories and still do on the app called Lose It! I also count macros to make sure I'm getting enough protein, fat and carbs. I basically eat chicken, protein shakes, eggs and all the fruits and veggies I want. I have celebrated every 10 pounds lost, I am at 80 pounds gone so far. I have 10 more to go and I know it won't take me long to lose them with the Max Trainer.

Tell us about the Alyssa in the most recent picture.

Alyssa: So much has changed. I have energy, I no longer need medication for my blood pressure, I can run around with my kids, I'm happier and I am comfortable in my own skin. I'm proud of myself for taking care of myself and taking time for myself which is hard as a mom.
