Fit Tip Thursday: The Three Best Bodyweight Exercises
No matter who you are - man or woman, young or old, beginner or professional athlete - every well-rounded fitness program incorporates bodyweight exercises, for a few simple reasons. They are functional and they require nothing except your relationship with gravity. You can do them at home, outside, while traveling, whenever and wherever you want. Most importantly they are tremendously effective at eliciting the desired results.
Here are three of my favorite bodyweight exercises:
I have busy executive clients working bodyweight exercises into their daily routines: Doing wall-sits in elevators, burpees in their offices, walking lunges down their hallways. I personally have been doing push-ups and crunches since I was 14, originally doing 300 variations of each every day.
My favorite time to do bodyweight exercises is at night in front of the television, during commercial breaks. Just three minutes done a few times a night, a few times per week will bring about major changes in your strength and body composition.
If you have a home, then you have a home gym. If you have a body, then you can do bodyweight exercises.
