Fit Tip Thursday: The Best Glute Stretch
In previous posts, I have discussed how technology and our increasingly sedentary lifestyles are wreaking havoc upon our bodies, especially our glutes. This inactivity weakens and tightens the very muscles we are sitting on, which can lead to a whole host of problems, including compensatory issues involving the knees, back and hips.
The simple solution? Strengthen and stretch. We need to keep these muscles strong and we need to ensure that they don’t become overly tight over time. Either one of these issues can cause big problems, and many people are experiencing both, which makes matters exponentially worse. The great news is that both can be remedied with some basic exercises and simple stretching.
