4 Style Tips for This Summer
One of the best parts of summer is being able to not only rid yourself of all the extra layers, but also lightening up your overall look. To that end, I've come up with a few fresh ways for you to streamline your summer.
- Tiny Baubles: Last year's trend of piling on the rings is still going strong. But for summer, try to limit it to one or two thin bands on your thumb or index finger and tiny studs or hoops with accented stone details. It's a cool way of accenting your outfit without weighing things down. Stones should be smaller and chosen for maximum sparkle over size.
- Not-so-short Shorts: Depending on which part of the country you're in, shorts will probably be starting to make an appearance, even in the workplace. Think lighter, not shorter. So, for instance, denim cutoffs might be a bit too casual (save them for the weekend), but a charcoal grey pair of nearly to-the-knee linen shorts can have almost the same effect as a pencil skirt.
- Handy Bags: Instead of a heavy tote, consider a larger size clutch handbag. The new shape clutches are less awkward than in years past. Modern details include straps that allow for a comfortable grip and multiple pockets to store your everyday essentials – while still being cute enough to wear out on date night.
- Moto Mojo: The motorcycle jacket look works for early summer, but out of thinner fabrics and with three quarter sleeves. Or make like a socialite and keep a cashmere wrap with you for those unexpected bursts of air conditioning.
