Go Ahead, Indulge!
Sometimes it really is okay to indulge your worst habits and binge on your favorites-as long as they’re binges that are good for you!
- If your sweet tooth tends to rule your world, consider swapping sugary treats with fruit infused tea drinks. I press fresh juice and then serve with a half tea mixture and ice. Perfect for cooling off on a hot day and good for you! For added fun I add “bubbles,” or tapioca pearls to the bottom of each drink.
- If you feel as though you can’t keep up with pop culture, download the latest seasons of Game of Thrones or any of the shows you missed on the first go round to watch while you work out. Or, catch up on your classics or obscure indie movies. Swap out a podcast for your regular workout tunes.
- Have a favorite author? Start reading their most popular series in order. Missed out on the classics as a kid? Use your commute to read everything from Tom Sawyer to Lolita. Challenge yourself to read foreign authors or genres you previously avoided.
- Feel as though your zucchinis are threatening to take over your backyard? Summer is the perfect time to practice your pickling and preserving. My newest obsession? Homemade pickles and red onion relish.
By taking the time to indulge in the things you enjoy, you can come out refreshed and ready to take on the world!
