Four Advanced Ab Exercises for Hard Abs

So you've been doing the basic abdominal exercises for a while now. You've built up your core strength and you feel ready to take your routine to the next level. These advanced ab exercises will accomplish just that – “amping” up your ab workout with four advanced exercises that really target your entire midsection:

The advanced ab exercises shown in the video are:

  1. Rope Climb
  2. Corkscrew
  3. Russian Twists
  4. Plank Extensions

Only the Russian Twists ab exercise requires additional resistance (You can use a SelectTech dumbbell, a medicine ball, even a large water bottle) or you can just get used to the movement first, without holding anything.

A great way to do these exercises is by time, starting with 30 seconds each with a short rest in between. You can do the routine a few times through in a circuit format for a quick yet challenging core workout. As you get stronger you can increase both the time (doing 45 or 60 seconds per exercise) or the number of circuits. Enjoy!
