Our Favorite Bodyweight Exercises

True long-term success in fitness comes from variation, performing a wide variety of moves and exercise modalities. This is especially true when it comes to strength training. While there are a seemingly infinite number of articles that debate which type of strength training is in fact “best,” an intelligent, balanced approach is to do a mix of free weights, machines and bodyweight exercises. Each type of resistance training confers unique benefits by challenging your body in different ways, which will also prevent boredom and burnout.

I love my SelectTech dumbbells and the infinite number of exercises that I can do with them. I also love bodyweight exercises, especially when I am travelling or want to do a fun strength workout outdoors without any equipment. Bodyweight exercises are simple, functional, and they can be modified to fit any fitness level.

In this week’s Bowflex Video Tip of the Week, fellow fitness pro Amy Dixon and I share our two favorite bodyweight exercises. Can you guess what they are?
